Coko joins World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)

Carly Strasser Feb 5, 2018

We are pleased to announce that Coko has become a member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This is “an international community that develops open standards to ensure the long-term growth of the Web.” The organization is led by web inventor Tim Berners-Lee (Director) and CEO Jeffrey Jaffe.

As members, Coko will be able to interact and work directly with leading companies, organizations, and individuals in the space of web-based standards. We will also be able to provide input on strategic direction and participate in working groups and interest groups. An example of a group with relevance to Coko is the Publishing Working Group, whose goal is to “enable all publications—with all their specificities and traditions—to become first-class entities on the Web.”

We will be encouraging other tool builders and publishers to do join W3C as well—it’s our opportunity to have a say in how the web handles the tech that we build! Learn more about membership here.
