We are excited to continue this series of Coko update announcements highlighting the growth and good health of our communities.
Hindawi Ltd., one of the original founding members of the PubSweet community are renewing their financial support of Coko and PubSweet. This is a tangible sign of the organization’s continued commitment to community led shared open infrastructure, as well as to the Coko community, and the spirit of innovation and collaboration that is alive and well within it.
“Coko is a best practice open source organization, and we have benefited substantially from the value that working with them, and through them with several other organizations serious about open source contributions and reusability of code,” commented Chief Digital Officer, Andrew Smeall. “Our investment in Coko is an opportunity to show the wider community this value and also to lead by example.”
This is the second investment of this kind that Hindawi has made in Coko, following on the heels of an investment in 2019.
“We are very grateful for the continued partnership with Hindawi,” commented Coko Founder Adam Hyde. “They are not just partners, they are friends, and we look forward to building together for a long time to come.”
Hindawi’s Phenom is built on top of PubSweet, and is now in use by several journals, with a steep increase planned this year. Phenom’s base version was completed within the community in less than one year.
